Mini Big Mac Cheeseburgers
I am starting out by saying that I did not invent the recipe for these Mini Big Mac Cheeseburgers. Recipes for these cheeseburgers are all over the internet and Pinterest.
I have made these mini big mac cheeseburgers for many years ,I am simply sharing the steps to how I make them.
These cheeseburgers are super easy to make and they are always a hit. Bring them to a party, make them for dinner for something fun and different or serve them on game day.
In addition to being delicious and easy to make, these mini big mac cheeseburgers are also super affordable to make.
There is a cohesive and printable recipe for these mini big mac cheeseburgers at the end of this post.
I will just share a few tips and tricks to making these burgers to make it easier on you.
I use 85% lean ground beef for this recipe. You can use a more affordable ground meat.
you will have to use paper towels to blot some of the grease off the top and bottom of the meat after it is cooked.
Additionally, if you use a 75% fat ground beef, you will see that the meat shrinks a little bit more than the more lean beef.
If you do not eat beef, you can substitute ground turkey for the beef in these mini big mac cheeseburgers.
To be clear, I have not used ground turkey. I think you would still enjoy the flavor of these cheeseburgers.
Remember when you flatten the meat on the cookie sheet to make it a little larger than the buns. Also, will be shrinking of the meat so you want to make sure that you have enough to cover the entire bun.
For this recipe I use the kraft cheese singles. To me, these are the best cheese for this burger.
I like the way this cheese melts on these burgers. It gives the mini bog mac cheeseburgers the same flavor as McDonalds.
Although I am not sure that this is the same cheese that McDonalds uses.
The Seasoning
This recipe calls for very few ingredients as far as spices go. I have included measurements for the salt, pepper, garlic powder and minced onion.
You may prefer more or less of any of the spices I have included. There is a good way to test the spices when you are making a ground meat recipe.
Take a little bit of the meat, about a bite size, then fry it up in a skillet. This way you can taste the meat with the seasonings and add more if you think that it is under seasoned.
If you are new to cooking, this is a great way to figure out how heavy handed to be with your spices and herbs.
These mini big mac cheeseburgers are perfect for a party. It would be my suggestion to prepare the meat patty in advance.
Bring it to the party separate from the buns and toppings, then melt the cheese on the burger patty when you get to the party.
Then I would assemble after I arrived. Assembling these mini big mac cheeseburgers is easy and should only take a few minutes after you melt the cheese and re-heat the patty.

Mini Copycat Big Mac Cheeseburgers
These mini Big Mac cheeseburgers are just like McDonalds, but better. These are the perfect party food. They also make a great dinner for a fun and different meal option. Kids and grown ups will love them!
PREP TIME 10 minutes
COOK TIME 20 minutes
TOTAL TIME 30 minutes
Ingredients
-
- 1 package of 12 Dinner Rolls
- 2 lbs of Ground Beef
- 1 Small Yellow Onion, Minced Fine
- 12 Slices of Kraft American Cheese
- 1 Cup of Shredded Lettuce
- 12 to 15 Hamburger Dill Pickles (slices)
- 1/3 C of Thousand Island Dressing
- 2 eggs, whisked
- 1 T of Toasted Sesame Seeds
- 1 T of Butter, melted
- 2 t of Salt (or to taste)
- 2 t of Garlic Powder (or to taste)
- 1 t of Black Pepper (or to taste)
- 2 T of Minced Onion (or to taste)
In a bowl, combine your ground beef, minced onion, salt, pepper, garlic powder and egg. Do not over mix this.
You want to mix just until combined. You may want to adjust the seasonings to your preference.
Some may like more or less salt and pepper.
Divide the meat mixtu
re in half and form two rectangles that are a little bit bigger than 6 of the dinner rolls .
You want to form the rectangles so that after baking you can place the meat patty on top of 6 of the dinner rolls when the dinner rolls are still connected side by side in two rows of three.
Like how the rolls come out of the package.
I put the two rectangles on a cookie sheet and I like to top it with a little more minced onion.
Make sure the thickness is pretty even so that it cooks evenly.Bake at 350 degrees for about 12 minutes.
Every oven is different so make sure you check to make sure the meat isn’t over done or under done.
While the meat cooks, split the two sets of six buns down the center. So that you have bottoms and lids.
I spoon about two tablespoons of thousand island dressing on each of the bottoms and spread it all over the rolls with a spoon.
When the meat is cooked, you can blot any extra grease off with a paper towel. Then place the meat patties on each of the bottoms of 6 buns. Spread thousand island on top of both of the meat patties.
Unwrap the cheese slices and place them across all of the meat patties. Place the tray back in the oven and let the cheese melt. This will only take a minute or two.
When the cheese is melted, spread the minced onion over the whole patty, then the pickles, then the lettuce. The top with the bun “lids”.
Use a pastry brush and brush the tops of the buns with the melted butter, then add a sprinkle of sesame seed.
Cut the burger into individual servings.
Enjoy!
