Rapper Rich Homie Quan died Thursday at his home in Atlanta.

He was 34 years old.

He was a hip-hop artist whose real name was Dequantes Devontay Lamar. His hit songs included “Type of Way” and “Living a Life.”

A local morgue and Rich Homie Quan’s family both told TMZ the news on Thursday afternoon.

A source told the news outlet that the rapper’s family is “shattered” and “heartbroken” by his sudden death.

According to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the Fulton County Medical Examiner has set a date for an autopsy for tomorrow. The cause of Quan’s death is still unknown.

Thursday, Boosie Badazz, a famous Atlanta rapper, shared the news of the rapper’s death on X, which used to be Twitter.

It was the Wipe Me Down rapper who remembered, “JUST TALK TO WUAN THE OTHER DAY.”

Boosie’s tweet was shared again by the podcast No Jumper, and fans left heartfelt condolences for the rapper in the comments.

An admirer wrote on Twitter, “Man, this can’t be true!”

“Oh no! This is awful. “That can’t be real,” said someone else, shocked.

Jacquees, an R&B singer who worked with Rich Homie Quan a lot, sent his condolences on Twitter, writing, “Rest in Peace my brother Rich Homie Quan.” Love you forever. “#Richgang”

In an Instagram Story post, Richard Stark’s friend said, “I’m devastated,” after hearing about Quan’s death.

Rich Homie Quan’s rise to fame

The rapper Rich Homie Quan started making music in 2011, but it wasn’t until 2013 that his single “Type of Way,” which peaked at number 50 on the Billboard Hot 100, became a big hit.

His 2015 single Flex peaked at number 26 on the charts and did even better.

Quan and Young Thug, another rapper from Atlanta, were both in Cash Money Records’ spin-off project Rich Gang. Their 2014 single “Lifestyle” was an early hit.

That same year, they worked together on the club hit “Tell Em,” and in 2015, they worked on the song “Up, Up & Away.”

Young Thug’s criminal trial continued on Tuesday and Rich Homie Quan was brought up.

There is jail time coming for the Gang Up rapper because he broke Georgia’s RICO law and committed several violent crimes.

Artist YSL Woody tried to ask Young Thug if he had a problem with Quan while he was testifying.

It is said that Young Thug laughed in response.

The fall of Rich Gang

Not long ago, Quan talked about the problems with the Rich Gang group and his relationship with Young Thug on a number of podcasts, such as No Jumper and VladTV.

Even though he didn’t say much about the claims against his former groupmate, he did say that Young Thug’s involvement in street activity was more common than he liked.

While on No Jumper, he told host Adam Grandmaison, better known as Adam22, “S**t was getting a little too street from me.”

“As a man, I wasn’t raised in certain ways that don’t even fit with my morals,” Quan said.

Devin, Quan’s oldest son, was born in 2006. He is the third son he has.

It was five years after Devin was born before the rapper found out about him.

The Rich Homie Quan’s last post on social media was on September 3.

The Instagram photos, which were tagged with “Vision clear even through the BS,” showed the Flex artist getting ready for a concert and then rocking the stage.
